Our tobacco packing customer was looking for a solution to help accommodate their high-volume packing line requirements.
Invention
Sewtec already had a fast, compact and flexible robotic palletiser which was assisting customers with a similar requirement, in other industries including pharmaceuticals, medical device, cosmetics and personal care, confectionary and FMCG.
In place of the standalone pallet configuration software common to the industry, which sees additional programming required in the control system, the Sewtec palletiser features built-in software. This enables the input of dimensions directly to the machine to automate format adjustment, which speeds up the changeover process to a matter of minutes.
Results
In operation, the flexible design enables two pallets to be loaded in quick succession or simultaneously from multiple lines. For applications where a layer card is required, this is accessed from a second pallet for automatic placement during pallet loading.
The Sewtec Palletiser is a robust, hygienic construction, with the ability to case weights of up to 30 kilos, at speeds of 10 cases per minute.
