New year, new jobs at Sewtec13 January 2020
Sewtec will create more than 70 new highly skilled jobs around Wakefield in the next three years.
Two-thirds of people will be looking for a new job this new year, according to CV Library. For skilled precision engineers based in Yorkshire – as well as people in business support roles like IT, HR and finance – Sewtec has a lot to offer in 2020 and beyond.
We are currently actively recruiting for a range of technical, sales and production roles including senior positions such as production director, head of build and head of quality.
We are also looking for commissioning managers, proposals engineers, controls engineers, technical sales managers, project managers – and due to growing client demand, there are many more vacancies in the pipeline throughout 2020.
Sewtec is growing fast. Last year, we increased our headcount by more than 50 per cent, welcoming an impressive 50 new recruits into the business and taking us up to 132 permanent employees.
As we expand to a 75,000 sq ft facility in Wakefield’s Silkwood Park in March 2020, we will create more than 70 jobs in the local area over the next three years. These exciting new facilities double our available workspace and give us huge capacity to realise the company’s potential.
To put it simply, Sewtec is a progressive manufacturer and we put people first.
Our culture is inclusive with an open-door policy, regular ‘open floor’ sessions, a ‘bright ideas’ scheme, employee referral scheme and family events.
We champion and invest in our people, with initiatives such as leadership coaching, a new bonus scheme, ‘cycle to work’ scheme, increased pension contributions, health and death in service insurance, employee appraisal framework and flexible working.
Sewtec is also on an upward trajectory and have ambitious growth plans in the coming years. Our turnover has already nearly doubled to £28m in the past year and we’re aiming to reach £50m by 2023.
All our people are natural problem-solvers who love working in a challenging environment on bespoke projects where no two days are the same.
To achieve these ambitious plans, we need ambitious people with ‘fire in their bellies’ to be part of our team. Does this sound like you?
Sewtec’s director of business support, Mark Atkins, who heads up our recruitment, said: “We’re going through a period of exceptional growth and are on the lookout for experienced specialists, graduates and apprentices to join the team. I’d encourage anyone considering their next move in precision engineering to take a look at our vacancies or get in touch with me directly.”
