Sewtec Supports The Clothing Bank

1 September 2024

Sewtec's chosen charity to support this year is The Clothing Bank.

Each year at Sewtec, employees are encouraged to recommend local charitable initiatives that we can support throughout the year.

This year one of our employees has nominated The Clothing Bank, a very unique charity who only help those that are struggling with clothing poverty in the UK that cannot get help from anywhere else.  Those helped include working families only, children referred through teachers, all college and university students and pensioners.  The Clothing Bank’s saying is “We only pass your preloved clothing onto those in need, but not through greed”.

Earlier this year, Sewtec donated £500 worth of new clothing and intend to do additional further fundraisers throughout the year.

Throughout July, Sewtec requested clothing donations from employees to support this worthy charity with a number of employees getting behind this cause throughout the month.

Joanne Boothroyd, Management Accountant at Sewtec, nominated The Clothing Bank to be this years chosen charity for Sewtec to Support and said ” Donations were welcome for all ages and we were overwhelmed with the generosity from everyone.  We wanted to be able to help families in need and especially wanted to help families and students who would be struggling with the new academic year approaching”.
