Manual Machinist

Sewtec are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join our bespoke automation team.


Purpose of the role

We are seeking the skills of an experienced Manual Machinist to set up and operate conventional machine tools including manual milling machines, manual lathes and surface grinders to manufacture components of various sizes and tolerances.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to produce components to a high standard whilst working to tight deadlines. You will also be able to demonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.

The role also requires the successful candidate to monitor, report, and advise on project progress, as well as maintaining and recording all relevant reports and documentation.

You should have a team-player attitude and be able to work on your own initiative. You will also have good attention to detail and ensure innovation, best practice, and knowledge sharing within the business.

Qualifications required for Manual Machinist role

Minimum City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering relevant discipline (desirable)
