Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
At Sewtec Automation, we recognise the importance of supporting our local community and promoting sustainable ways of working.
Not only do we put ourselves at the very heart of our community to support charities, schools and colleges, we’ve also been credited for our efforts in creating a working environment which has sustainability at its core.
Giving a helping hand to our community and charities
We’re always looking at ways we can help charitable causes within the local community. From family fun days to sales and raffles, our team holds regular fundraising events to make donations to causes which are important to our local area.
We also always look to champion local businesses through sourcing products and services from providers within the community.
Our team has helped raise money for a wide range of charitable causes and initiatives, including:
- West Yorkshire Hardship Project
- Ben’s Music Foundation
- Community Awareness Programme
- JR Sports Stars
- Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust
- Macmillan
- Movember Foundation
- Northorpe Hall
- Ossett Food Response
- Sailability – Rutland Sailing Club
- Save the Children
- Star Bereavement Support Service
- Variety
- Wakefield Riding for the Disabled Association
- Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Building relationships with local schools, colleges, and universities
We are always looking to help nurture the next generation of engineering and industrial automation talent.
Whether it’s heading out to schools to give them a taste of what it’s like to be an engineer or providing work experience to local school pupils who are eager to pursue a career in engineering, we want to help out in any way we can.
We also source and develop apprenticeships in collaboration with local colleges, and have created strong relationships with local colleges and universities through offering work placements and graduate positions.
We’ve worked in partnership with:
- 3M Buckley Innovation Centre – Huddersfield University
- Appris
- Crofton C of E Junior School
- Kirklees College
- Leeds Arts University
- Roberttown C of E Junior & Infant School
- Wakefield College
- Horbury Academy
A sustainable approach to automation
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword to us. We’re committed to working in a way which promotes the best sustainable practices across our manufacturing processes.
We have been awarded a bronze corporate social responsibility (CSR) rating by global independent assessment agency EcoVadis. We achieved this award due to our focus on energy-efficient manufacturing processes, design of environmentally friendly automation systems and creation of highly skilled jobs.
Supporting the future of electric vehicles
We support the future innovation of electric cars for our staff and visitors, which is why we have six charging points available in our car park at Automation House. We will also seek to adopt more charging points as demand increases.
