Sewtec Automation design and produce new labelling system for global e-commerce business
3 April 2023Sewtec Automation, world leaders in robotic and bespoke automation solutions have recently shipped a labelling system for a global e-commerce business. What started out as a wish to reduce additional packaging for consumer goods shipped from fulfilment centres across North America and a potential roll out for the rest of the world, culminated with a 6 month prototyping and final production ready machine.
The system recently passed its FAT and after being shipped is now currently being installed on the customers test site in the US. Once the technology has been proven, we are expecting a global roll out in the hundreds, if not thousands of machines.
The system has been developed to label any shape or size package at a rate of 3800 per hour. The incoming package is 3D profiled and bar code read to determine the goods. Customer address labels are printed and applied using robotics before the label is inspected for data integrity and positional accuracy.
