We came out on top in the companies turning over £10m-£50m category and our managing director Mark Cook took home the business leader of the year award.

Held at the Emerald Stadium Headingley on November 6, business leaders from around the region came together at the glittering ceremony to celebrate the best of Yorkshire’s business.

In a competitive field, we beat four other businesses in companies turning over £10m-£50m, whilst Mark Cook was shortlisted alongside two other business leaders from the region.

Commenting on our double award win, Sewtec managing director, Mark Cook, said: “To win two awards at the Excellence in Business Awards is testament to the fantastic work being undertaken every day at Sewtec. It’s great to see the whole team being recognised for its ongoing efforts.

“It’s humbling to pick up an individual award too, but without the support and efforts of the whole Sewtec team, winning this accolade wouldn’t have been possible. I’d also like to thank Endless and the firm’s investment director Andrew Ross for all the support given to me and Sewtec over the last two years. We continue working at pace to achieve our growth plans”

Sewtec completed a management buyout backed by Leeds-headquartered private equity firm Endless in August 2017. We have since undergone a period of transformational change and is currently implementing a recruitment campaign to enable further sustainable, profitable growth.

As part of our growth strategy, we’re aiming to reach £50m turnover by 2023 and have 190 employees working as part of the Sewtec team.

Our double win at the 2019 event follows our success at last year’s Excellence In Business Awards, where we picked up the accolade for exporter of the year.
