SEWTEC SUPPORT LEEDS BASED CHARITY
23 May 2023Sewtec employees are committed to supporting a number of local initiatives each year and when one of our employees suggested supporting Flourishing Families Leeds we looked into their story.
We were really impressed by the work they do in the community to equip families with the skills they need to move forward. Their projects focus on healthy eating, literacy, language, mentoring and provide practical guidance where it’s needed, so we were pleased to play a part in helping to make a difference.
Andrew Cook, Mechanical Design Engineer Section Leader, stated, ‘I was very pleased to nominate Flourishing Families Leeds for a charitable donation from Sewtec and delighted that we were able to support them. I know that the donation will be fully utilised to help some of the poorest families in Leeds.’
Richard Colbrook, Chair of Trustees, Flourishing Families said, ‘we are hugely grateful for your very generous gift. Every penny of it will go to the frontline to help some of the poorest families in Leeds. Their children are amongst the 40,000 kids who live in absolute poverty in Leeds, not being able to afford some of the basic essentials for life. That’s enough to fill Elland Road Stadium with 2,000 spilling over onto the pitch. Your generosity could not have come at a more important time and will change lives and futures. Thank you so much!’
