Sewtec’s apprenticeship scheme shortlisted at Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards7 October 2019
Sewtec has been successfully selected as a finalist in the apprenticeship award category at the Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards.
This shortlisting for our apprenticeship scheme follows the news that Jordan Wright and Tomas Preidys have received individual nominations in the engineering apprentice of the year category at the Make UK awards.
Taking place at the John Smith’s Stadium on Thursday, November 7, the Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards is the longest-standing business awards in the region with a history of recognising and rewarding successful companies across all sectors. The awards will be presented by BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration.
Sewtec is one of three businesses who have been shortlisted for the apprenticeship award, which is sponsored by agrochemical company Sygenta.
Commenting on our nomination, Sewtec managing director, Mark Cook, said: “We are extremely proud of what our individual apprentices achieve, which is why recognition for our scheme as a whole is well-deserved.
“All our apprentices are offered permanent roles within the business, which is testament to the quality of person we hire. We do not see apprentices as cheap labour, but as the future talent of our business. November is going to be a very busy time for Sewtec’s apprentices as they attend the Huddersfield Business Examiner Awards and the Make UK Awards on consecutive nights.”
Currently, Sewtec has seven apprentices, with another due to join the team later this year.
